have some gelato

Katie used to call it the tummy feeling. That roller coaster feeling of happy. The same feeling Alissa Walker gets when she eats gelato, walks around, and writes about architecture and design.
So naturally she made a career out of it. She got rid of her car, which helped her notice more about her hometown of Los Angeles, which helped her get more and better writing assignments, which helped her get speaking gigs--where the guests are often treated to (you guessed it) gelato.
Negotiating a sprawling metropolis without benefit of automobile is… “Fun!” Alissa says. “I make it a game.” When to walk, when to take a train, when to hop on the bus? It’s life as adventure, and word is getting around. Alissa gave New Yorkers a walking tour of their city, she works on interesting problems like how to better distribute fresh and affordable food, and her blog is a feast for the eyes.
Alissa lives with exuberance. She's a walking, talking billboard for following your bliss.
